Samrudhi | Organic Farming

Introduction

Organic farming is an integrated farming system that strives for sustainability, the enhancement of soil fertility and biological diversity. Organic farming prohibits synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, genetically modified organisms, and growth hormones. Urban organic farming is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people. Direct access to fresh vegetables and fruit products through urban farming can improve food security and food safety. It relies on ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles adapted to local conditions, rather than the use of inputs with adverse effects.
